Tonight we were on our way to see 'Boyband' at the Seymour Centre. Instead of heading into Newtown for dinner before the show, we decided to hit Broadway Shopping Centre for some late night shopping and a quick bite.

I'm not usually a fan of Broadway. However, Tomodachi was a pleasant surprise. Located on Level 2 in the Food Court, Tomodachi is a large space with a sushi train on one side and a some lounges/ tables on the other side with an a la carte menu.

The staff do not speak english (well, certainly not the two staff that served us) but thankfully the menu has pictures. So, just point at what you want. This might be a nightmare for some people but at Tomodachi the staff have a really friendly nature and truly do want to serve you. It's service with a smile despite the language barrier.

I ordered a 6 piece salmon sashimi and the chicken udon. My theatre buddy ordered a chicken teriyaki bento box. Within minutes these dishes were served at the table. The salmon sashimi was delicious and I love preparing my own combination of wasabi and soy sauce. The chicken udon was served in a black pot and presented on a wooden stand. It was a never ending pot of japanese soba noodles, bok choy and chicken - very nice. My theatre buddy loved her bento box - it was huge with servings of salad, tempura, teriyaki chicken, rice and noodles.

This feast came to $25 pp - so, consider this place on your way to the movies at Broadway or before you hit the shops on Thursday night.
